St. Mary & St. Antonios is a Coptic Orthodox Church located in Ridgewood, Queens, New York. We aim to spread our ancient belief into a modern world and spread Christ’s love to our community.
St. Mary & St. Antonios Coptic Orthodox Church is located in Ridgewood, Queens, New York. It is one of the oldest Coptic Orthodox churches in North America and the first Coptic Orthodox parish in New York. It is one of over 200 Coptic churches in the United States. St. Mary & St. Antonios Church was founded in March 1972 and was consecrated in September 1989 during a pastoral visit by His Holiness Pope Shenouda III. In 2011, the second building of St. Mary & St. Antonious Church, 62-54 60th Place, Ridgewood, Queens, NY, housing the altars of Queen Helen and Anna Simone, was purchased. The liturgies are currently held by three priests, and they serve over 1,000 Coptic families in Queens, NY. On September 14, 2018, SMSA2 was blessed with a visit by His Holiness Pope Tawadros II. His Holiness consecrated the altar of Queen Helen and Queen Anna Simone. In March of 2019, Woodward Ave was co-named ‘Father Youhanna T Girgis Way’ in loving memory of our reposed father Abouna Hanna.
