As we know, the Nativity Fasting started today and will end on Jan6. Below are some proposed practices that can help us in improving our spiritual life.

Fasting Practices for the Nativity:

  • Choose one of the following exercises to do during the fasting period so that
    you may benefit
  1. Wake up half an hour earlier than usual or sleep half an hour later and use
    that time for prayer or Bible reading to spend time with the Lord.
  2. For those who are restless at night, spend 10 minutes with the Lord and go
    back to sleep.
  3. For those who fast, fast from speech in addition to food (decrease your words
    to others, and increase your words to God).
  4. Don’t eat more than you need – take only what is sufficient.
  5. Try to attend at least 2 hours of praises each week during the Kiahk period.
  6. Keep a picture of the Virgin before you – sit in front of it for just 5
    minutes each day and chat with her.
  7. Increase your Bible reading during the fasting period.
