Thirteen years ago, Mary and John Gabriel were joined in marriage in their shared church in Holmdel, New Jersey. Their memorable ceremony was full of joy, family, and the promise of a loving life. Soon after, they were blessed with two boys, David and Daniel. This beautiful family enchanted us and enjoyed their life together on Staten Island, in New Jersey, and eventually in Florida, spreading love to everyone they touched.
As everyone knows, if you were looking for the Gabriel family, you could find them in church. Both Mary and John led their children in the word of God, remaining devout and graceful each day.
On Friday, September 8th, there was a mandatory evacuation in Tampa, Florida in preparation for Hurricane Irma. Mary and John packed up their kids and began the move on Friday night through early Saturday morning. During the drive, their car was struck head-on by a driver on the opposite side of the road, causing a fatal accident. John remains in crutches while David suffers serious injuries to his neck and back. Daniel, thankfully, emerged with only minor injuries. They lost their car, their dog Ruffles, but, most importantly, their loving mother. Unfortunately, and to the despair of her family and many close friends, Mary Andraos-Gabriel, a true light in this world, did not survive the impact.
Due to the hurricanes in Florida, we are unsure about the state of the family’s belongings. While we are praying for as little destruction as possible, they may return, injured and motherless, to find nothing left. The lives of John, David, and Daniel have been forever changed.
The family of Mary Andraos-Gabriel are humbly asking for your financial assistance during this great time of need. While no amount of money will replace the loss of their mother, we are hoping to ease their burden as much as possible. This family has an endless amount of healing ahead, both physically and emotionally. Please find it in your hearts to donate to this beautiful family. Every penny and prayer counts and is much appreciated. We are endlessly grateful for any help you can provide.
Thank you,
With love from the family of Mary Androas-Gabriel.
I am so sorry for their loss. Mary was truly an amazing person who I will remember forever. Her sweet, warm and inviting smile was something I personally looked forward to every week at church. Her boys are amazing young deacons which would give everyone confidence and hope in the future of our church. I pray that the Lord comforts Hany and his boys and guides them to continue the journey that He has set for them.
I don’t know Merry but when I see this, I couldn’t control my self. My eyes filled witj tears and start crying as if I know her and the family for long times. My heart broken. May the Almighty God keep her Soul in Heaven. Amen.
Are the services in Holmdel or Queens?
